JOVADRE
Destruction, decay, devastation, disintegration. These are words that apply to things that once had form, structure, and solidity but have fallen from grace. But if these things had never been refined in the first place the very same arrangement of atoms would appear restful, pleasant, perhaps even lovely. Jovadre knows no prejudice when choosing his subjects for their innate balance of form.
But there’s also a rebellious side to him that likes to leave a vestige, a small clue that this thing of aleatoric beauty was not what was originally intended. Jovadre’s work challenges the viewer by asking: Can you look beyond what you know about this from the past, and see it for what it is now? If so, now can you do that with your fellow man?
Art was no part of his growing up, but at high school he developed a talent for working with colors and shapes. He had a great love for surrealistic landscapes and was inspired by works of Dali and Miro. From unloading trucks, newspaper boy, working in construction, interim-manager with large firms to …. art. A long and winding road to find out what he really wanted to do and be in life. From digital photography and making adaptations from photo’s he developed into a digital artist. Autodidact again.
His latest work is most of all abstract with some small figurative details. The empty p.c. screen is his canvas. Working intuitively, sometime adding photographic elements, his creations develop on the screen. After experimenting a lot he now also works with paper, canvas, soft stone and styropor. Numerous expositions brought him some fame. His work can be bought through art galleries and his digitally composed work has already in several Hilton hotel in Europe (Stockholm, Dusseldorf, Antwerp, Copenhagen) and will be shown this autumn at Art Zurich and the Affordable Art Fair in Amsterdam.
