MIKE BLOOM
Mike Bloom — Even his name suggests aleatoric art
Mike Bloom is an aleatoric artist in the truest sense. He sets the stage (the canvas) choses the players (the colors) and then lets them do what they will. Gently cajoling or influencing the paint rather than trying to dictate its every move, the achieved result is something no traditional painter would ever be able to duplicate. The human mind doesn’t make design decisions the way nature does, nature is illogical and illogic is rare and beautiful.
His name is a double aptonym: Bloom as in the realization of a flowers potential and the movement in his paintings suggest the opening of petals to embrace the sun; or Bloom as in Ka-BLOOM! The sound of an explosion which is what many of his paintings do, explode into a massive conflagration of scintillating color or star bursts in the night sky.
