QAMAR RIAZ
We are all of the same substance yet no two of us share quite the same life experience. From a single origin but a fraction of a degree difference in trajectory, we each embark on a unique journey. Qamar Riaz presents an intimate view of our universe as he has thoughtfully observed, diligently studied, and carefully cultivated it from his own personal perspective. Yet the murky depths of pooled color and ancient-organic textures of his paintings portend a mystery yearning to be revealed. Arriving at his images by a subtractive process, he strips away lugubrious layers of darkness and abstraction to reveal glimpses of the original pure white light from which all things began. Riaz’ technique itself metaphorically parallels the plight of the artist: to explore and excavate the deepest penetralia of one’s own psyche in search of the subconscious treasures and artifacts of self discovery hidden therein.
Artist Statement
As an artist, I believe freedom is fundamental precondition which brings happiness. To me, creativity is an outcome of free expression whatever the art process is followed. The purity of thoughts and recognition of originality is the key to discover simple solutions for producing outclass art. I noticed that a white canvas remains white no matter how dark and thick layers hide its originality. When you peel off these layers, you discover the original white canvas. So I feel, the artists have to peel off all those layers which have shaded the originality within. The artist has to feel the freedom of imagination within to transform thoughts into an original expression. My artworks are representing development of a thesis which is self-learned.
I am ardent about trees and believe that tree and humans make a sustainable organic model. I am passionate about moon. I feel that is the best place for toxic industry, while Venus, which contains high quality sulfuric acid clouds, is the best place for dumping our toxic and nuclear waste. I feel, the whole planet system makes a good example of sustainable colony and I am committed to show the world, a universal model, which is sustainable and where resources are abundant.
I have an abstract view about the creation of this universe. This perspective offers me freedom to present an abstract view of the universe i am living with. In these paintings, I have tried to discover something around us which is still hidden.

Peel-off painting technique is simple method which I believe can develop outstanding paintings. I have recently been recognized among top 25 artists in an online painting competition where more than 2000 artworks were presented.
Three years back, I started working on paintings. I worked with paints, their dilution, their viscosity and their behavior on different surfaces. Same time, being a metallurgical engineer I develop metallic brushes. Initially it was planned to develop a long term sustainable paint which evolved into an art movement. This 3 years informal research landed me in a perspective where I can see an organic model of universe.
It is now established that original white canvas remains white no matter how thick shades or layers of paints cover its original surface. When these layers are peel off, originality comes to life. In this action painting technique, thin layers of paints are used. For creating depth, metallic brushes help the artist to discover underneath these layers.
This technique helped me to paint unimaginable lands and horizons. This technique offers a solution to those artist who loves to produce action paintings.Universe

Oil painting, 36×25×2 inch (HxWxD)
It may look wooden planks piled away. But its skillful texture takes you to extra-terrestrial terrains and a deeper look will land you in the heart of countess tiny spherical horizons. The wooden texture provides an organic perspective which is in 7 layers. It glows inherent grey ground when back lit. This artwork is produced with Peel Off technique.
